A New Creation in Christ

As three-part beings—spirit, soul, and body—we experience a profound change at the moment of salvation. Our spirit is transformed, becoming new and one with Christ.

Couples Pursuit Live Bible Study Edition is designed to help individuals and couples grow in their relationship with Christ and better understand His nature, goodness, grace, and mercy.

Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior bring the Holy Spirit into your life, bonding with your spirit and making you a new creation.

This transformation is an inside-out process, with the Bible serving as the mirror that reflects who you are in Christ.

The Holy Spirit as Our Guide

When we receive Jesus, we respond spiritually and begin to perceive and understand through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth and helps us navigate our lives according to God’s will.

Ephesians 4 speaks of putting on the new man, a new creation created in righteousness and true holiness.

This righteousness is different from our natural righteousness and is essential for personal growth and fulfilling relationships.

Righteousness and Identity in Christ

As believers, our spirit becomes righteous, true, and holy after being born again.

This transformation is distinct from our natural righteousness, which falls short of God’s standards.

The story of the rich young ruler illustrates this point: despite his good deeds, his heart was not fully committed to Jesus.

Understanding our identity in Christ is crucial for spiritual growth and overcoming challenges in our lives.

We become one in spirit with Christ by confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection. This unity empowers us to overcome temptations and grow in our faith.

Dealing with Post-Salvation Struggles

After accepting Jesus, it’s normal to experience struggles and make mistakes.

However, by confessing our sins to God, He forgives and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

Seeking wise counsel from fellow believers can also help guide us on our spiritual journey.

We must learn to let our spirit rise in challenging situations, responding with grace and wisdom rather than anger.

By understanding our identity in Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us, we can experience lasting change in our attitudes and relationships.

Applying Christ’s Love to Our Marriages

Marriage is a covenant with God, and married couples often face challenges related to money, power, trust, infidelity, etc.

We must live beyond our flesh and yield to God’s guidance to overcome these challenges.

Husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church. This love and a strong foundation in Christ can transform marriages, households, and relationships with children.

God’s Faithfulness and Your Salvation

God is faithful and will transform your life if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him into your life.
