Eternal Life through Jesus with God
Vincent and Valerie Woodard are thrilled to share their Couple’s Pursuit Bible study with you.
Their goal is to help individuals and couples align themselves with what God says about them and how they should behave toward one another.
This Bible study is suitable for anyone, regardless of relationship status. In this session, they will discuss the concept of Eternal Life as described in John 3:16.
The True Meaning of Eternal Life
When most people think of Eternal Life, they imagine living forever in heaven or hell.
However, the true meaning of Eternal Life is a possession that we have now – it doesn’t begin when we get to heaven.
Jesus defines Eternal Life as knowing the only true God and the one He has sent, Jesus Christ (John 17:3). The key word here knows – it’s about having an intimate relationship with God.
Relationships: The Heart of Eternal Life
The foundation of Eternal Life lies in our relationship with God. Many people mistakenly believe that the goal of salvation is forgiveness for sins to avoid hell, but John 3:16 reveals that the purpose is to know God now, in our present circumstances. Knowing God makes us experience life more abundantly and rise above any challenges we face.
Experiencing Abundant Life
Once we know God, we can enjoy a more vibrant, abundant life. This means living above and beyond what the world throws at us.
As Vincent and Valerie share their Bible study with others, they hope to help people realize that they don’t have to settle for what they’re currently experiencing – God wants us to enjoy this abundant life and bring His kingdom to Earth.
The Importance of Intimacy with God
Intimacy with God is crucial for experiencing Eternal Life. When we have a personal relationship with God, we can pray to Him about our needs, and He will satisfy them.
Jesus gave His life so that we could receive the free gift of righteousness through Him and reign in life. To achieve this, we must pray and ask God for what we need, as prayer is God’s work permit.
The Role of Forgiveness in Eternal Life
Forgiveness of sins is essential, but it’s not the end goal. Many people believe that as long as they have a reserved seat in heaven, they can continue to muddle through life.
However, by surrendering our lives to Christ and asking for His vision for our lives, we can experience everlasting life now on Earth. This deep, intimate relationship with God allows us to rise above life’s challenges and enjoy a more abundant existence.
Conclusion
The true relationship starts with God, not with others. By knowing God intimately and seeking His guidance, we can experience Eternal Life and abundant living now.
Vincent and Valerie encourage you to share this Bible study with others, as it’s part of their mission to spread the biblical principles that have helped them in their marriage. Remember, alignment with God’s word is the key to a successful and thriving life.
